Sound familiar?
Interested in renewable heating but not sure a full heat pump conversion makes sense for your property?
You are not alone. Many properties are not suited to a full heat pump retrofit without significant and costly system changes. A hybrid approach can improve efficiency while maintaining output, but only when the system behind it is capable of supporting it.
Why choose us
Hybrid systems only perform when the heating system behind them is properly understood, prepared, and configured.
We assess your system before specifying anything
We assess pipework condition, radiator performance, and system flow before specifying any equipment. Hybrid systems fail when this step is skipped.
Designed for your property, not a default configuration
Equipment is sized for your actual heat demand, insulation, and existing emitters. If a hybrid is not the right fit for your home, we will tell you. There is no default hybrid configuration in our work.
System problems fixed before integration
Sludge, restrictions, or circulation imbalance can seriously limit what a heat pump can contribute. We identify and resolve these before integration, including escalation to Advanced Heating System Remediation™ (AHSR) where required.
Controls set up for how you actually heat your home
Hybrid efficiency depends heavily on correct control setup. We configure everything around your usage and property, not generic factory settings.
35+ years of heating system experience
Since 1990, we have designed and installed heating systems across Scotland. That depth of knowledge is what allows us to specify hybrid systems that actually perform. This is what allows us to integrate heat pumps into existing systems safely and effectively.
Ready to find out if hybrid heating is right for your property?
Why it matters
Why system preparation matters more than the appliance
In many older properties, the cost and performance of a heating upgrade is not determined by the appliance itself. It is determined by the condition of the existing system.
The reality
System condition drives performance
The condition of your existing heating system, the suitability of your radiators, and the heat demand of your property all determine how well any hybrid system will perform. A heat pump installed onto a restricted or undersized system will not perform as intended, and the efficiency gains a hybrid configuration is supposed to deliver will not materialise.
The correct approach
Assess, understand, prepare
Before any installation is considered, the system must be properly assessed and prepared where necessary. This ensures the right appliance is selected, performance is predictable, and unnecessary replacement work is avoided from the outset.
How it works
Your hybrid heating system in three considered steps
Hybrid systems require more careful specification than a standard boiler replacement. We take care of the complexity so you do not have to.
Property and system assessment
We review your property, existing heating system, heat demand, insulation levels, and available space. This confirms whether a hybrid system is genuinely appropriate before any commitment is made.
Design, specification, and installation
Equipment is selected and sized for your property. Hydraulic integration, pipework preparation, and control configuration are all completed to a documented standard. Nothing is commissioned until the system is ready.
Verified performance from day one
Full commissioning confirms the system is operating correctly across both heat sources. Controls are configured to your usage patterns and the installation is fully documented for warranty compliance.
Before you proceed
Existing system condition determines how well a hybrid system performs. We check it first.
Restrictions, sludge, or hydraulic imbalance in your current heating system can significantly reduce heat pump contribution and undermine the efficiency gains a hybrid system is supposed to deliver. A system assessment before integration is not optional for us. It is how we ensure the installation actually performs.
Fixed cost, no surprises
Every installation starts with a system assessment
Before we recommend anything, we assess your system properly. You get a clear answer before committing to any installation work.
£225 + VAT
Fixed cost for a full hybrid heating system assessment.
This includes:
- Full heating system evaluation
- Circulation and performance checks
- Hybrid suitability assessment
- Clear recommendation — repair, upgrade, or replacement
This cost is included within the final installation price if you proceed.
The difference it makes
Most hybrid system installations skip the step that matters most
What typically happens:
- A hybrid system is specified without proper system assessment
- Existing restrictions or sludge are not identified
- Heat pump contribution is limited or ineffective
- Efficiency gains are not realised
- System performance issues return
What we do instead:
- Full system assessment before any recommendation is made
- Honest guidance on whether hybrid is appropriate at all
- System preparation completed before integration
- Controls configured for real-world operation
- Documented commissioning and verification
Service Coverage
Where we install hybrid systems
Hybrid heating systems require careful design, system preparation, and correct commissioning. For this reason, installation is limited to our core service regions where we can maintain full control over quality, response times, and ongoing support.
Assessment Availability
System assessments may be available outside these areas. Where appropriate, we can advise on system condition, suitability, and next steps before any installation is considered.
Customer Reviews
Trusted by homeowners, engineers, and industry professionals alike
With over 35 years in the industry, we've built our reputation one resolved job at a time, across every level of the heating sector.
“Professional and friendly father and son team. Highly recommended.”
Professional and friendly father and son team. For us they have done boiler installations and provide ongoing servicing and maintenance. Also radiator power flush, and general problem solving and fixing of any plumbing issues. They also fitted new guttering on two properties. Good customer service. Highly recommended. Been a customer for over five years through various incarnations of the business.
